This week's podcast features a remarkable story from one of our Wish Warriors, Susan Geoghegan. Many months ago, she attended one of our virtual Wishcircles and saw herself speaking from the stage. It was a rather unexpected surprise!
Susan’s the mom of two beautiful children with Mitochondrial Disease, a rare disorder that affects cell function. In her work, Susan bravely shares her journey as a medical mama, through the passing of her daughter Lorelei, the highs and lows of continuing to care for Benji, and advocating and spreading awareness for Mito.
In this episode, in addition to sharing how Susan’s Tedx talk come to be, I also coached her on how to best prepare for her moment in the spotlight. For over a decade, I’ve been teaching people to become confident speakers, on stage, on camera, and in life. It’s always a pleasure when my two worlds intersect!
Lastly, Susan’s story inspired us to create the Matte Multi-Banded Agate bracelet in our Cause Collection. When you purchase this bracelet, a portion of the sale will go to "Lorelei and Benji's Fund for a Mito Cure" supporting the research of Dr. Marni Falk at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
